Victims of Violence Support Africa

Address. Network. Support.

“People readily demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice their safety and survival for the sake of something beyond themselves, such as family, country, or justice,” Atul Gawande, Author

About Us

VVSA was born from the awareness of the lack of psycho-social support for victims of political violence and the impact of this void on the work of CSOs strengthening the rule of law in Africa.
We fill this gap by working with HRDs, as well as other victims of political violence, to build awareness, and enhance their capacity and networks of support.

The VVSA Way

Address

Enable HRDs to work through their own, and others, trauma.

Network

Supporting community action through awareness raising.

Support

Facilitate the growth of victims of political violence networks.

Victim Assistance Programme

Capacity Building and Sensitisation

Analyzing and understanding how and why political violence happens and reflect on its psycho-social impact.

Network development and Psycho-social support

To show that the consequences of political violence are a reality they should not be ashamed of.

Advocacy, Collective Action and Awareness

This is a fight that’s beyond one individual or group; this fight is dependent on collective and sustainable action.
