
Mercy is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. She has extensive experience in program coordination, governance, civil society capacity strengthening with particular strengths in coalition building, systematic election observation, electoral processes, human rights and governance research and reporting, and civic education.
She is also an experienced trainer of trainers and has extensively trained on election observation, election law and processes and human rights. She has had the opportunity to take on assignments across Africa: Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan, Somalia, Sierra Leone and Malawi. She has previously lectured on a part-time basis at the University of Nairobi, UNITID Fellowship Programme, Riara University, and the Africa Nazarene University, Schools of Law.
